HOW TO MAKE A SIMPLE HAND PURSE- TUTORIAL FOR BEGINNERS

Virtually all women uses hand purse, your choice of hand purse might depend on so many things ranging from material used to design of the purse. If you know how to make hand purse yourself, you have a lot of advantages over those that cannot make it, you can choose your own preferred type of material to be used, the kind of design you which, the color you prefer and so on. When choosing the kind of materials you are to use, make sure you go for ones that will last long as that will be one of the advantages you have over those purchasing from a supermarket.

Making a hand purse may seem challenging but the fact is that you can easily get it done yourself. In this tutorial, I will concentrate on simple hand purse. If you are able to make a simple type of purse then you are likely to be able to make more complicated ones, all you have to do is to be creative and look out for more designs.

All the materials you need are easy to purchase at an affordable price so you don’t need to panic thinking on the price of the materials you need.

MATERIALS AND TOOLS

Ø Fabric.( any color of your choice)

Ø Glue. (PVA Glue/Chemical Gum/Top Bond)

Ø Thread and needle.

Ø Sewing machine.

Ø Scissors.

Ø Ruler.

Ø Cutter.

Ø Marker.

Ø Tape rule.

Ø Zip with zipper.

Ø Work table.

Ø Office pins.

Ø Holder.

Procedure

v Measure a length of 5 inches and a breadth of 7 inches on your fabric.

v Trace the measurement out with a ruler.

v Cut the measured part out with a scissors or a cutter.

v Repeat procedure 1 to 3 to produce 2 fabrics of 5 inches length,7 inches breadth.

v Measure a 9 inches long zip with zipper.

v Place the fabrics facing each other on your work table (make sure that the 7 inches part is facing each other.)

v Place the zip on the part where the fabrics meet each other so that the zip stays in between(in such a way that the fabrics stays on the right and left sides of the zipper).

v Pin the zip to the fabrics with few office pins then sew.

v Tape the zip at both edges.

v Fix a holder on the zipper

Note; if you are using glue, first apply the glue to the part on the fabric where you are going to place your zip. Also apply to the zip, then gently place on each other and hold firmly.

Turn the fabrics to the opposite sides such that the exterior faces each other thereby revealing the interior and then sew the edges with an allowance of about 0.5 cm.

Now you can turn your hand purse outward.
