Simple step by step tutorial on How to make beautiful earrings using Ankara.

No need to spend much for buying. earrings, shoes and bags can be made of Ankara stuffs. Ankara is one of the trendiest fabrics in Nigeria. No wonder it is because it has a great variety of color and pattern styles. If you want to stay stylish, learn how to make Ankara accessories.

Materials AND TOOLS

1.    Ankara fabric

2.    Scissors

3.    Hot glue gun

4.    Earlets

How to make Ankara earrings:

There are quite a few different ways to do this, This is a way to customize your earrings and save money by doing so. All of the items are available at your local fabric store.

STEP 1. Cut out a piece of fabric that is a little bit bigger than your cover button. The Dritz packaging includes a circle size guide, but I eyeballed my fabric and cut it into a square.

STEP 2. Place the fabric into the cover button mold.

STEP 3. Place the cover button front on top of the fabric in the mold.

STEP 4. Tuck in any excess fabric.

STEP 5. Place the cover button back on top. (The back’s raised edges should be facing upwards.)

STEP 6. Take the lid button pusher and press it into the back. You should hear a “pop.”

STEP 7. Remove the assembled button from the mold.

STEP 8. If the button has a wire back, use your pliers/scissors to remove the cable. 

STEP 9. Decide where you would like to place your earring posts. 

STEP 10. Apply a small amount of glue to the back of the button and attach the earring post.

STEP 11. Let the jewelry dry and set for a few hours. All set!
